  • Winter Wonderland

    First off...Merry Christmas!!!

School has wrapped up and I'm already a week into Christmas break and still no posting. Very lame I know. And I still haven't really done anything yet...aside from a friend from school and I went to see the Milwaukee Ballet's "The Nutcracker" which was amazing!!! No photography was allowed, but here's the theater building and a quick pick of the two of us before we got yelled at.

Otherwise...most excitement has been snow related...and the sheer mass amounts we have been receiving. We've already had 40 inches this year.

  • So I know I've been a neglectful blogger lately...finals are here and I'm wrapping up some big projects so this isn't really much of an update but here's my lil "story" from 3-d imaging class...

  • Creativity

This semester is proving to be very draining...not necessarily health-wise or the typical ways, but all my classes are art classes, PioGraphics is super busy and my job is designy-stuff so now and then I find myself yearning to...

....write a paper of all things. No pictures, no design elements, no visuals whatsoever. No fonts to consider. Just plain old 12 pt double spaced Times New Romans and abiding by all the scholastic paper regulations.

    Craziness.

I've also found the differences between artists' personalities rather interesting. It is one thing that is super fun with all my classes...group critiques. Everyone gives in-put, none of which is to be taken personally or taken at all if you don't want it. Basically a big semester long brain storm...draining at times (like now. ugh.) but over all pretty sweet. I love having all the ideas floating about. Same with artsy blogs....like Design Sponge.

I really want to take everything off my walls and take a sharpie to them right now.

Obviously, you can't take everyone's advice. Things get messy and disjointed and don't function properly. At the same time though, community is a good thing. Being secluded...not communicating with anyone...staying in your own little world really results in stagnation...no development at all. (not to mention, if your work always includes a buncha naked women, all the girls in you class are gonna think you're pretty creepy...no offense but a half a sentence here and there would be really helpful. eek.)

Anyhow. It depresses me that I want to write a paper. I can't wait for Christmas break and have some creative juices left over to do something fun instead of straight homework.

  • What we did for half the day today...

Well today we moved around our cubicles at work, making room for new video editing stations and a new person hopefully. The sad part is that our close-knit group is no longer going to be crammed in one space so in an effort to keep the team spirit alive...one of the guys got some new toys for us...

^^^ he's keeping that one for himself.

And here's my new desk. Other than being farther away from people and the coffee corner, I love it....lotsa room and sunshine. And my desk-space is u-shaped.

    love it.

(and yeah...i took the pictures with photobooth which flips them horizontally for whatever reason...so all the words are backwards and stuff)

  • Mondays

Ever since school started, Mondays have turned into one monster of a day. I also generally try to avoid posting on Mondays as I tend to expound upon horrific details and just exacerbate the awfulness but today is different.

Today, I was planning on posting regardless. I figured it had been awhile since I ranted about everything and how stupid our government is and how we're going to turn into a socialist nation and God's gonna judge our socks off...but the 700 BILLION (not million as I've seen/heard from some sources, it's BILLION) deal that they tried to shove down our throats got stuck somewhere along the line and DID NOT PASS.

So seeing as we as a nation have lived to die another day, I will rant another Monday.

Instead, I will leave you to listen to what we just barely missed out on:

And the fact that I want a bumper sticker: "Don't blame me, I voted for RP"
